Just taking a moment

I don't know where to start. Some of you who know me, know Beth. She passed away Friday night. She was young and had a lot more living to do. She leaves behind a devoted husband and 3 children. Even if you don't know her, I want to tell you about my friend. She was a teacher and I met her as "Miss Bussey" before she was married and became "Mrs. Imming" when she was teaching at Hilltop Jr High in Chula Vista. She was the youngest teacher at the school by far. I loved her, jr high was a rough time for me, some of the girls were so mean and snippy. Sewing class was my little escape during the day. She encouraged me to pursue art. Her youngest daughter and my oldest daughter went to school K-6th together and became good friends. Never did I imagine in Jr high - that our daughters would be friends....

Beth Imming was optimistic, happy and always had a smile for everyone. She always would write thank you notes for even the smallest gesture. She was creative and talented. She taught me how to sew, she was my 7th, 8th & 9th grade sewing teacher for Home Ec. She always was pulled together, hair nicely done (or a hat while doing chemo) makeup perfectly done, nails looked nice, shirt tucked in...you get the idea. On her worst of days she looked better than I typically do on my best of days. She was thoughtful and caring. She would stop and ask you how ______ was going. She did everything with pride and with a happy heart. She was the most consistent and patient parent I have ever seen. She was Davi's chaperon for the Sacramento/San Francisco Field trip, she is so capable and understanding of Davi and her ADD, I never ever was worried. She never ever complained and took every thing in stride. Never once was did I see even a hint of "poor me" - she always focused on her blessings in life. She was a faithful Christian and taught me a lot about making the best of your situation and saving your energy for better things than worry or complaining. Beth had a great laugh and beautiful blue eyes. On top of it all, she faced life's challenges with optimism and faith. She loved her children dearly and was a great mom. she could laugh at herself. The world could use a few more people like Beth.

Beth, you will be missed.
